If you received a Securely Access Code, but did not request one

Modified on Fri, Jan 20, 2023 at 2:04 PM

SecurelyMe uses a highly secure one-time passcode mechanism to grant access to your SecurelyMe account.  If you received a code that you did not request, this article will explain what may have happened and how to address each situation.

Shared Account? In some cases we have found that couples and partners share a single Securely account. While sharing accounts is discouraged, we understand that these things happen. If this is the case, please check with your partner to determine if they requested access.

Mistyped email or phone number? SecurelyMe uses either your phone number or email address as your username. It is not uncommon for people with similar email addresses or phone numbers to mistype their entry, which causes you to receive the Securely Access Code. So long as your phone messaging and email inbox remain in your sole control, there's nothing to worry about.  Simply ignore the email as access cannot be granted without the code.

If your email account or phone number were compromised.  Securely is highly secure, but if other your email, phone, or computer are not secure, it can impact the overall security of any solution.  We strongly recommend that you regain full control of your email and/or phone before proceeding.
